2025 Student Access Council

Advancing the Future of Egyptology

Support the future of Egyptology with student professional development

With new and expanding opportunities for students, barriers remain for students to access resources critical to their career development. ARCE and our loyal members are committed to fostering the growth and development of the next generation of scholars in the field.

Now in its fourth year, the ARCE Student Access Grant initiative is dedicated to opening access and fostering talent through student participation in the Annual Meeting. Your support offers students an important opportunity to meet scholars in the field, develop international cohorts with other students, network and attend paper sessions critical to the field of Egyptology.

When deciding whether to attend a conference, the primary consideration a student has is finances. Conferences provide a critical opportunity for students to share ongoing research, practice presentation skills, and create lifelong professional connections that can often impact career trajectories. Students can only meet these milestones if they do not have conference funding to attend professional conferences. Estimated below are just the average expenses incurred when attending a national conference:

  • Conference Registration: $100
  • Flight: $600
  • 3-night Hotel: $600
  • Out-of-pocket Meals: $150
  • Total: $1,400

Your Impact on Student Success

Over the past four years, ARCE members have generously supported student attendance at the Annual Meeting. ARCE member support has covered student costs for registration, travel, lodging and a daily per diem at the meeting.

To sponsor a full student ARCE Annual Meeting Experience, all members are invited to join the Student Access Grant Council:

  • $1500 tax deductible gift to support one student’s experience at the Annual Meeting.
  • Networking breakfast with student grantees.
  • Name recognition on social media platforms, ARCE websites, and program collateral.
  • VIP meeting with ARCE’s Executive Director scheduled annually.
  • Opportunity to build 1:1 relationship with future scholars.
  • Investment in the field of Egyptology.

*If you would like to cover a student’s registration only, please select this option on the ARCE Annual Meeting registration webpage.
