Nesma Attiatalla
Academic Programs Manager
Nesma Attiatalla is the Academic Programs Coordinator at the American Research Center in Egypt. She earned her BSc in Applied Sciences and Arts from the German University in Cairo and completed her joint MA in Heritage Conservation and Site Management from Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg and Helwan University, where her thesis focused on Tangible and Intangible Heritage in Egypt, Siwa Oasis as a case study.
Presently, she is a PhD candidate in Heritage and Museums Studies at Helwan University and a fellow of the SAWA Museum Studies Program. Nesma has extensive experience in cultural policy, heritage management, community development, museology and EU-Arab Relations, acquired through working with INGOs, UN agencies such as UNESCO Cairo office, the European Commission in Belgium, and Intergovernmental Organizations in Europe and the MENA region. Prior to joining ARCE, she was working as the International Cooperation and Culture Heritage Specialist at Environmental Quality International.
