Sara is an Egyptian archaeologist and journalist with over 9 years of experience in both fields. She holds two Bachelors (Egyptology and Journalism) from the American University in Cairo (2011). In 2020/2021, she was chosen as a Chevening scholar, and earned her MA in Archaeology and Heritage of the Middle East from University College London, with a thesis focusing on ‘Predynastic Children Pot Burials’.

She has written for Daily News Egypt, Egypt Today, MadaMasr, and Egyptian Streets. Passionate about fieldwork, she also excavated in Deir El Ballas, the Valley of the Monkeys, Saqqara and Madaba (Jordan). Her interests include heritage, funerary culture, comparative archaeology, gender, minority rights, and the environment.
