Christina DiMeglio Lopez
Christina received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Maryland. She has more than 20 years of experience at the Smithsonian Institution, working closely with the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, the Center for Astrophysics, Harvard | Smithsonian, and with museums in the U.S, Mexico, Panama, and Puerto Rico.
Her work has focused on educational outreach, fundraising, communications, advancement, and the launch and growth of a national Smithsonian Affiliate membership of 25,000 members. Christina has led educational initiatives in collaboration with multiple institutional partner organizations in the nonprofit, social service, and higher education sectors.
A graduate of the Smithsonian Executive Leadership Program, Christina was competitively selected to participate in a cohort of 20 Smithsonian senior-level officers for a 15-month senior leadership program. She was awarded a certificate of executive leadership from the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. Over the past five years, Christina has worked in higher education at the Catholic University Schools of Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Law, and at Catholic Charities, District of Columbia as the development director for two fundraising campaigns.
Christina is an enthusiastic servant leader, developing meaningful connections between people, organizations, and thought leaders. She is passionate about the preservation of cultural heritage, and social justice.
