Dr. Melinda Hartwig is an Egyptologist with expertise in ancient Egyptian art, architecture, and archaeology. She has been deeply involved with the American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) for nearly four decades, serving in various roles, including Fellow, project leader, Governor, and Board President. Previously, she was the curator of ancient Egyptian, Near Eastern, and Nubian art at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University and a Professor of Art History at Georgia State University. Since 1983, Hartwig has led conservation and documentation projects in the Theban tombs of the 18th dynasty, most notably in the tomb of Menna (TT 69), which was published in the ARCE Conservation Series and is now in its second printing
