DISCOVERY IN HELIOPOLIS

On Monday, March 13, 2017 ARCE Cairo staff members Jane Smythe, Michael Jones and Mary Sadek were in attendance at the site in Heliopolis when a massive three-ton torso of Psamtek I, a pharaoh from the 26th dynasty who ruled Egypt between 664 and 610 B.C., was lifted from the mud. Photos by Jane Smythe, ARCE Assistant Director in Cairo.
